Annual Easter at Mimi's

We had our annual Easter celebration at Mimi's again this year. The boys had a great time playing with the Oglesby cousins. And of course they were spoiled with three sets of grandparents, Aunt Kathy and Chris and Aunt Julia and Greg. Let the hunt begin!! And of course Mimi had several cute activities for the kiddos planned, such as bunny and egg decorating and badminton.

Neighborhood Easter Egg Hunt

We took the boys to the neighborhood Easter egg hunt the weekend before Easter. They had sidewalk chalk out for the kiddos to color while waiting for the hunt. Then they had three different hunts for specific age groups. This is really the first egg hunt Truitt has been interested in, and he only found 2-3 eggs because the contents were way more exciting!! Parker did great and had a blast too.

First T-ball Game

This Spring we decided the next sport Parker would try would be T-ball. He is on the Mets in the Kingwood Forest Cove League. He is having such a blast and playing pretty good too. Each player has a position on the field and also hits each inning. Parker played first base the first game and still has a little trouble catching the ball, but has a pretty good throwing arm. His nerves seemed to get the best of him when he was at bat, but still did great!! I just love watching John and Parker play catch :) There is a game during the week and one on the weekend each week. This first game was definitely a challenge with trying to watch the game and keep an eye on Truitt. He wants to be out there playing so bad, and every chance he would get, he would sneek into the dugout and onto the field!! And as a side note: I loved the New York Mets when I was a kid, so this is so neat that his first team is the Mets!! I was such a baseball fan and have no idea why I chose this team but I loved the catcher, Joe Carter, when I was like 6.

 

Rodeo Time

This year the boys and I were able to go to the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo with Noni, Grandpa and Aunt Karen. This was the boys first time to see the actual rodeo and they loved it. The weather was rainy that day so we weren't able to go to the carnival, but a few weeks later we headed to the Houston Rodeo with Jodie and Joseph, our neighbors.

Happy 2nd Birthday Truitt

I cannot believe my baby is 2!!  But let me tell you the day he turned 2, he definitely let us know.  Wow, has he become a handful!!  To describe Truitt at 2, I will use the words a mess :)  But I could not imagine our lives without this little cutie.  I just love his sweet snuggles and miss him so much during the day.  Truitt continues to love to do anything and everything his brother does, loves "Mer" or Kramer, loves tractors, trucks and balls.  Even Parker's T-ball coach has commented on his arm!!  He continues to be a VERY picky eater, which stresses me out on a daily basis.  This little boy is fearless, independent and strong willed.  It is amazing what different personalities two children from the same parents can have!!
