Merry Christmas 2010

This was the first year that Parker really understood that Santa was coming to bring him presents. The night before we put out reindeer food, cookies and milk for Santa and read "Night Before Christmas". Then Christmas morning his face was priceless when he saw the presents under the tree!! All he asked for this year were cars and candy. Santa, of course, had to bring him a few more things :)

Christmas Eve

We made our annual trip to New Braunfels for Christmas this year. After our traditional tamale and chili Christmas Eve dinner, we opened presents. We had a big group this year, with all of the Elledge's joining us too. Parker was definitely overwhelmed with all of the presents and actually stopped mid opening to read and play with a Cars sticker book. Baby Truitt even got a few things :)

Big Boy Room

Two weeks ago we had a painter come in and paint Parker's big boy room and the nursery. Then a week later his furniture was delivered. Unfortunately, the headboard was busted, so we had to wait another week for that to get here. The second his bed was put up, Parker was done with his "baby bed". He has slept in his "big boy" bed for over a week now and loves it!! We are slowly getting everything the way we want it, but with the crib still in the room that is hard to do. We are holding out moving it as long as possible, so we don't lose our guestroom just yet. This is what we have done so far.

Christmas Cookies

This weekend we made Christmas cookies for the first time. Parker had a great time wearing the cookie cutters as bracelets, getting flour everywhere and using way too many sprinkles!! He has also loved this time of year, especially with a pregnant mommy, to enjoy more cookies and candy than usual :)

Santa's Wonderland

Last night we took a trip to College Station with the Daigles to Santa's Wonderland. It was a perfect, cold evening for a hayride through the Christmas lights display. Then we sat around the fire and ate too much. The boys enjoyed the petting zoo and pony rides. This is definitely something we will do annually this time of year!!

Hanging the First Ornament

I have tried to start little Christmas traditions here and there and one of them is to let Parker hang the first ornament on the tree the friday after Thanksgiving. He was so excited to help this year!! He didn't stop with that one either. He hung as many as he could get his hands on. He seemed to put a lot of thought into where they should go, but as soon as he went to bed I had to rearrange a few :)

24 Weeks

Fun Times with Family and Friends

On Friday, Noni, Parker and I went shopping and then had lunch with one of my high school friends, Alicia, and her kiddos. It was great catching up and watching the kiddos play on the playground and chase a caterpillar.




On Saturday evening we headed to Austin for the UT game. Unfortunately, the game was awful, but we still enjoyed the fun atmosphere.

We are so excited to announce that we are having another BOY!!! I know everyone thought it just had to be a girl this time, but John and I really wanted to give Parker a little brother to play cars, trains and football with . The ultrasound went really well and our newest boy looked great!!
