My Baby is 9 Months Old

Truitt continues to bring so much joy to our house. His smile and very wet kisses are the sweetest. I can't believe we will be planning his first birthday so soon!!

This month he had a cold that lasted about 9 days, so the poor thing actually lost weight. He weighed 15 pounds and 14 ounces and was 27 inches long. His favorite food right now is Cheerios. His face already lights up when he sees the box!! I have been introducing some more texture to his diet, but he is not sure about that yet. At times he gags so much that he vomits!! I guess we will just keep trying.


He continues to be sooo busy!! If you turn your head for a second he is in the dog's water, standing at the dishwasher, playing with a night light or crawling under the table. I think we might have a curious climber on our hands this time!!

This is his preferred way to see things these days. He pulls up on everything and can even move from the couch to the coffee table. I have to say one of his favorite things is Parker's shopping cart that he keeps all of his cars in. Truitt loves to stand there, pick up a car, put it in his mouth, throw it on the floor and move on to the next one. The pediatrician asked if he has developed a personality yet, and oh has he. If he is getting into something he is not supposed to be in and we take it away, we are definitely going to get yelled at!!

Date Night

While in San Antonio, we were able to go out on a double date with my parents to Jason and Kristin Mercks's wedding reception. We had a wonderful adults only dinner follwed by drinks and relaxing for a few hours. This was our second date night in 2 weeks, and we could definitely get used to this!!

Deussen Park

Before Big D had to head back home we decided to take a quick trip to the park by the house. This was Truitt's first time to the park, and he loved it. All he wanted to do was get down and explore. Parker had fun racing Daddy on the slides, swinging and playing pirates.

Even a 90 year old can still swing. We enjoyed being able to experience this time with Grandpa (Big D) so much. We had a lot of laughs!!

Turkey Day

We had our annual Thanksgiving Feast at Mimi's again this year. She was nice enough to host my family again and make a delicious meal. There was of course some football watching and napping too.

Truitt had a little trouble napping with all the commotion, so Omi was more than happy to help out!!

Discovery Green

We had a perfect Saturday morning at Discovery Green with the Millers. The big boys had a blast putting the bad guys in jail and playing hide and seek on the playground. We attempted a cool inflatable kite, but it got a hole within minutes!!Then we played miniature golf in an artist exhibit, which Parker loves. After a picnic lunch we headed home. Truitt loved crawling around the playground playing with leaves.

8 Months - What a big month for T!!

This is such a fun age!! And it has been a big month for Truitt. He started crawling about 3 weeks ago and is now ALL over the place. I cannot leave the room for a second unless I know there is absolutely nothing he can get into. His teachers say he is busy, busy, busy!! He also started to pull up and stand in his bed, but is always back down by the time I run in with my camera.

This last week has been a little challenging since he is getting his two bottom teeth finally. It has meant worse sleep than normal and terrible diaper rash from the constant diarrhea :( But all in all he is such a happy baby who is always giving kisses and laughing at his brother.

Weight: 16 pounds 2 ounces

He is still not a great eater, but with the addition of more formula at daycare, he did put on more weight this month than he did last month!! YAY!! His favorite foods right now are apple/blueberry and banana/raspberry. I did introduce chicken too, but I refuse to give him the pureed stuff by itself so it was mixed with sweet potatoes and he gobbled it up.

2nd Annual Boo Bash

The saturday before Halloween we had our 2nd annual Boo Bash on the block. The kiddos all looked so adorable in their costumes, and they had so much fun. Parker absolutely loves superheroes right now. We bought him a book about 6 months ago with Superman, Batman, Flash, Aquaman and Green Lantern. Since then he has wanted to be Green Lantern. He then decided that Truitt should be Batman too.




This year we all started at one house and worked our way around the block - 11 houses participated!! Each house had either a game or craft. Some of the games were a pumpkin roll, cupcake walk, pinata, and the kids could even win a goldfish.




We ended the night with a hay ride
